Louisiana and National Celebrate!

 

2009 is the 50th anniversary of DBE in Louisiana, and the 100th anniversary of the National Society, DBE in the USA.  We all celebrated at the National Convention in Houston, May 14th - 16th, 2009.

 

Seven Louisiana members were in attendance and had a great time.

National Convention

Audrey Van Inwagen, Hazel Turlington and Claire Hollier at the Banquet.  Audrey and Claire are part of a three-generational DBE family, along with Claire's daughter Michelle.  Audrey was a charter member of the St. Thomas a Becket chapter in Houston, and Claire was the founder of Petticoat Lane chapter in Lafayette, where Michelle is also a member.  We love three generations!

 

 

 

We had the most fun at the Texas State Luncheon, with a fashion show covering the past hundred years since DBE began.  This was accompanied by music of the time, and a narration covering events in the UK, the USA, DBE and in women's lives.  Here are some of the fashion models . . .
