Saturday January 6, 2001 . . . Chaucer Chapter's Twelfth Night Feast
Several years ago, Chaucer chapter began holding their "Holiday" Party in January - a pleasant interlude in between New Year and Mardi Gras!
This year, with the help of a fascinating website, the theme was a medieval twelfth night feast.
The invitation was sent out . . .

With the help of www.godecookery.com - and in particular, the section called "Feasts Within the Society for Creative Anachronism", a wonderful menu of traditional and authentic medieval dishes was served:
| Mushroom Pasties |
Wortes |
  |
| Saffron Rice |
Spinach Balls |
 | |
| Moroccan Chicken Breasts and Rich Chicken Stew |
Almond & fruit pastries |
 | |
 |
These photos do not really do justice to how good the "feast" tasted - and there were lots more dishes I didn't get to photograph! This website has really delicious recipes - it's a great resource! Do go and surf through their many pages: http://www.godecookery.com |
