If you shop online, you can sign on at www.igive.com, and a percentage of your purchases from over 532 online shops (as of July 2004) will be donated to your charity of choice.
I signed up, and it was very easy. Go to the home page at www.igive.com, type your email address, and click to join. On the next screen, they ask you to name your Cause. This is where you can sign up your DBE Chapter to be your Cause.
I signed up "Daughters of the British Empire, Chaucer Chapter," and I saw that "Daughters of the British Empire Kensington Palace" is already on the list (they already received a check!)
Follow the instructions e-mailed to you to obtain the password for your Cause.
If you shop online, you are pretty sure to find stores that you use in the list. These are a few of the 532 stores . . .

HOW TO SHOP . . .
When you shop online, go to the shopping site through www.igive.com website or newsletter to receive credit. (You can download a special igive.com window, but it's not necessary.)
The site and the associated stores offer lots of specials and coupons.
Currently, an additional $5 donation will be made to your Cause if you make a purchase within 45 days of signing up.
There is also an additional $1 donation made for every additional person you refer (who then makes a purchase within 45 days.) So it makes sense for one member of your Chapter to sign up the Cause, and then refer the other members. Then each member can refer family and friends.
