DBE in Louisiana mourns the loss of life in the senseless and barbaric bombings of July 7th. These are just a few photos from the British media. They speak for themselves.

Update:
I received the following e-mail from reader Marion, and I think she says what we are all thinking....

"Betty, I have just returned from London, and of course saw and heard a great deal about the terrible 'crime' committed in our fair capital. The fact that the bombers were British citizens, and college students, makes it seem much worse. How do you get through to people like that? However, I must tell you that as a Londoner born and bred, I was very proud of all of them on the Sunday after the bombing. The whole city celebrated the 60th anniversary of the end of WW2. with Parades, a fly pass of WW2 planes, the Queen in all her glory, looking smashing in yellow attended the service in Westminster abbey - AND over 1 million people were in the Mall, at Horse Guards, around the Abbey, and in front of Buck House when the Queen appeared on the balcony, and a plane flew over and dropped 1 million silk poppies. The newspaper head line the next day said "A Nation Defiant", and it certainly was that!!! Sad to say, London is used to such horrors. WW2, for those of us who admit to remembering it, the IRA bombings, and now a new threat. Living in the quiet little town of Venice in Florida, I feel very lucky, but so glad I was in London to see the determination of the citizens to go on with their lives, as normal."

Thanks to Rosemarie for these photos...

I also received the following from reader Josie:

"Hi Betty. I am a Belgium warbride and my deepest feeling for my English friends is very real. We were stuck with our nazis but we knew our enemies. This time it is real cowards we must fight and Belgium always will stand beside you. thanks Josie"
