PUB BACK DROP

Pub Backdrop

If you were at Pub Night 2001, you will have already enjoyed our wonderful new back drop for the Pub. Creatively combining the DBE name, with the British and American flags, the Shakespeare theme, and featuring the name of the Pub, "The Bard of Avon," the back drop provides a great focal point for the event.

The back drop is the brilliant work of two very talented artists, Anne Skupin and Debra E. Hicks Reed, who work out of Houston....

Anne Skupin is an artist who has her MFA in sculpture. She has worked with Debra from time to time painting and sculpting sets at the Alley in Houston.

Debra E. Hicks Reed has been doing theatrical scenic design and painting for 25 years, first in Oklahoma City, where she received her MPA in Set Design and worked with the Oklahoma City University, Ballet Oklahoma and the Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma. For the past seven years, she has been the Head Painter at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas. She has also worked on the set of the movie "Twister."
