Dalwhinnie By The Sea
June, from Toledo, Ohio, wrote to me about a wonderful trip she made to the Edinburgh area, and highly recommends the Dalwhinnie Bed and Breakfast.

June writes....
"We found what we consider the best B&B in Edinburgh, and the most charming of hostesses. It is a small place, but right on the North Sea with the most wonderful view. We could even see seals at play. This lady goes out of her way to make guests comfortable. She even did our laundry because there was no laundromat in the village. It is within walking distance of the local train service into Edinburgh. The name 'Dalwhinnie' is gaelic for 'Meeting Place.'"
"It is a modern ranch style home. Rooms are small, but exceedingly clean with very modern bathrooms. Guests also use the large lounge overlooking the back patio and ocean. She has a large telescope installed in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows and the view is spectacular."

Dalwhinnie is situated on the banks of the River Forth, in the village of North Queensferry, with uninterrupted views across to Edinburgh. North Queensferry was formed in 1046 by the Abbot of Dunfermline for the purpose of ferrying Queen Margaret across the Forth to Edinburgh via St. Edwards Bay. In addition to lots of history, the village has lovely restaurants dating back to 1750, the Fife Coastal Path for keen walkers and cyclists, fly fishing, lochs, distilleries and the Kingdom of Fife Golf Trail. It is 10 minutes from Edinburgh Airport and 15 minutes by train to Edinburgh.
