I think you might be interested in a small fishing village on the North Cornish coast called Port Isaac. It's a little off the beaten track but well worth the trip. I spent the summer of 1961 there at a B & B called "Hathway Guest House" and have never quite gotten over the incredible beauty of the place. It's a "Brigadoon." It's like time has passed it by. It's somewhere lost in the 16th or 17th century.
I was just on their website to make sure everything was as I left it 41 years ago. It hasn't changed a bit except the old school has been made into a hotel. I think you'll be impressed.
